Microsoft Releases iPhone App To Create 360° Panoramas

Before we start, let me tell you that THIS IS AN AMAZING APP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok here we go.
Microsoft has just released an app called ‘Photosynth’ which allows iPhone users to capture 360° panorama shots easily. Well you don’t necessarily need to take 360.. you can stop the phototaking anytime you want.

According to their Appstore description:

Photosynth for iOS is the panorama creation and sharing app that lets you capture more of your world. Now you can capture 360° in all directions (up, down, left, and right) to create spectacular images. Using the latest in computer vision techniques, Photosynth makes it easy and fun to create and share interactive panoramas of wherever you are.

Photosynth can share images and interactive panorama experiences to Facebook (with the included free Photosynth.net service). Integration with Bing Maps means millions of people could see your panoramas on maps and in search results for locations you’ve captured.

Upon launching the app brings you to the welcome screen which gives you intruction on how to use Photosynth.
Basically you just TAP ONCE on the screen, move your camera around and the app will stitch all your images together in just a few minutes.

The screen on the right shows you that the photos you captured are being stitched. You can also take this time to edit your photo properties like filename etc.

Once done stitching, you can view your panorama on the app itself by swiping the image around. You can also share it on Facebook, Bing and their new service Photosynth. Sharing on Facebook allows you to post your panorama as an interactive presentation so your friends can actually draw their cursor around to view it in 360° and not just a long boring photo.

##TIPS## Turn on ‘exposure lock’ in settings so that all your photos will have the same brightness.

The app is really AMAZING. Watch the video to learn more.
