Google Revamps Android Market, Adding Movies And Books

The Android Market is going to get a new look soon and if you are on Android 2.2 and above, you will be able to see the change. Apart from new interface, the new Android Market will also get new tabs for Movie and Books (though both new services are only available in the US).

In the U.S., you’ll be able to rent thousands of movies, starting at $1.99, right from Android Market on your phone. With the Videos app, available in Android Market, there’s no more waiting for downloads, syncing, or worrying about storage space. Simply sign into Android Market with your Google account, and you can rent movies from anywhere – the web, or your Android phone or tablet – and start watching instantly. You can also download movies to your device so they’re available for viewing when you don’t have an internet connection.

In the new Market, users will notice additions of featured apps, top charts, staff picks and editors’ choice.

The new Android market will be out in the coming weeks for 2.2 and above and it happens automatically. Users do no need to do anything at all. Check out this video below for more demo.
