At the Sony Ericsson Global Press Event recently in Singapore, they announced 3 new devices. One of them is the Sony Ericsson Xperia Ray. (Check out our Sony Ericsson txt hands on here)
The Xperia Ray is an Android device which measures at 9.4 mm thin and with a stylish aluminium frame. It’s basically a lower end version of the Xperia Arc.
The device has Facebook built in tightly to its OS. Users can view Facebook albums in the phone’s gallery. Allowing them to comment directly on the pictures, share recommendations and likes from the music player, view friends’ birthdays or other exciting Facebook events, which are automatically visible in the calendar.
The one we played with has a pink back cover. It has multiple colour covers which is interchangeable; Gold, Black, Pink, White.
The Xperia Ray has a 3.3″ Reality Display screen with Mobile BRAVIA® Engine. Basically the screen is the same as the Xperia Arc too (8mpx)… but somehow this one is a little bit more vibrant.
The camera works just like it’s bigger brother, Arc. It’s touted to have Sony’s Exmor R sensor for mobile. Havent really got the chance to look at the sample photos yet but we will update about this soon once we get our hands on the device again.
Nop. Pink is not my choice. lol Overall the Ray looks good (especially with the Gold back cover). It suits the middle range end users who wants to own an Android device but does not need the specs of the Xperia Arc. Women will like this one more I think.
