The moment we’ve been waiting for! Just recently Instagram put up a teaser on their site asking people to put in their emails to register interest and guess what, it’s now available for download!
The app is currently available for all devices, but somehow when I used the Xperia S to download, it says the app is not compatible. Probably it’s not made to support HD screens yet? I’m not sure. If you know the reason, please leave a comment below.
Basically the Android version looks and works exactly like the iOS version. Somehow I feel that the interface on the Android is somewhat cleaner and more soothing to the eye. As you can see, the news feed and the notification screen look the same with minimal design change.
Profile pages looks the same, but do have a look at the cropping screen on the right, this one looks different and I think the iOS version looks better.
All the filters are available after you’ve captured/selected a photo. Somehow I just couldn’t find the ’tiltshift’ feature. The ‘Live Preview’ feature is not available either. Let’s just hope they do add these in future updates.
So anyways, this is good news for all Android users and Instagram has been longed for a long long time.
