The ‘next big thing’ that everyone has been anticipating is finally announced. Just few hours ago, Samsung announced their latest flagship device, the Galaxy S4 at the Unpacked 2013 event in New York.
The GS4 has a 5-inch 1080p (1,920 x 1,080) Super AMOLED panel with 441 ppi resolution, very much similar to the Sony Xperia Z and HTC One. Samsung has also added the the ability to touch the screen when using gloves(originally from the Nokia Lumia 920). It packs 2GB RAM and will come with either a 1.6GHz Exynos Octa-core chip or a 1.9GHz quad-core Qualcomm, depending on region.
The back camera is 13 megapixels and front is 2. The GS4 comes with Android JellyBean 4.2.2 out of the box, which is a good thing. They also added a new feature; dual-video capture mode, which means you can switch on the back and front camera at the same time to take both photos together in 1 shot.
It’s only 7.9mm thin and only 130g in weight. It is actually 0.8mm skinnier, 0.7mm thinner and 3g lighter than the Galaxy SIII. Some other new features include Smart Pause, video pauses when you look away from the screen, Smart Scroll, webpages will scroll up or down when you tilt the phone and look at the screen at the same time & more.
