One of the biggest complaint about the Samsung Galaxy Gear has been about the notifications update. One would expect to be able to read email updates, Twitter mentions or even Facebook notifications on the watch but many users were disappointed when they could only be read on the device and not on the Gear at all. This instantly deemed the Gear from Samsung useless as a smartwatch.
Things are about to change soon as Samsung realised this issue and is updating the gear with enhanced notification system and new gesture controls.
Samsung is said to be pushing an update that will allow third-party app notifications allowing you to read incoming Gmail messages, Facebook Messenger messages, Twitter mentions, Google Hangout messages and more.
Samsung will also add more enhancements including Smart Relay functionality. Samsung says this will help users “perform actions seamlessly” from the Gear to their device, as well as improvements to the lift-and-pause movement that activates the clock. There’s also a good chance that any update will include some “bug fixes.”
