Along with Nokia’s announcement of their X Series of Android phones, they also announced some low end devices. One of them is the Nokia Asha 230. It is a colourful device that features ‘swipe’ gestures, social apps and Fastlane.
This touch screen device is aimed at first time touch screen users who are low on budget and yet wants to be socially connected. The Asha 230 comes with a capacitive 2.8” TFT screen which is not super stunning but acceptable for its price point
The Asha 230 supports dual sim and for the first time, dual sim users can forward calls to the other sim when one sim is busy. Users can manually change the settings in the settings menu.
Fastlane is one of the key selling point of this device. It’s a swipe from the left of the screen which brings up the recent apps, photos and activities. It gives users a faster way to access recently opened items.
One of the features I like on the 230 is the self portrait feature on the camera. Though it does not have a front camera, users will still be able to capture perfect selfies. Why? Cos it has voice guidance which tells you which angle to hold the phone in order to capture your face perfectly.
The Asha 230 costs only 45 Euros and is available immediately.
