Nokia Launches The N1, An 8-Inch Tablet Running Android Lollipop [Video]

Guess what? Nokia is still around and has just announced the N1! It’s an 8-inch tablet running Android Lollipop, overlayed by Nokia’s own Z-Launcher.

Nokia N1 comes with Nokia Z Launcher, the home screen that makes things simple. Just scribble a letter to find what you’re looking for – instantly. Plus, it adapts to where you are and what you’re doing to bring you the right app, right when you need it.

Display – 7.9 inch (4:3), 2048×1536 resolution, Gorilla glass 3 IPS panel with LED backlight and Fully laminated zero air-gap display
Processor – Intel 64-bit Atom Processor Z3580, 2.3 GHz
Memory and storage – 2 GB LPDDR3 at 800 MHz and 32 GB eMMC 5.0 internal storage
Camera: – 8 MP rear-facing camera with autofocus, 5 MP front-facing camera, fixed focus 1080p video recording

So this was the black box that Nokia was teasing earlier. Nice packaging.

The N1 tablet comes with a 7.9” laminated display at 2048×1536 resolution and Gorilla® glass 3, plus Micro-USB 2.0 with a Type-C reversible connector, just like how it is on he iPad.


No information about the availability yet, the tablet is going to sell at $249. The Nokia N1 will be out with two color options – Natural Aluminum or Lava Gray.
